About Christoph

Christoph Stopka is an award winning journalist, author and photographer. Born in Germany, where at the age of 21 he became the youngest newspaper editor, before moving to the USA. He worked as a Foreign Correspondent in New York City, Los Angeles and Santa Fe. His articles and photography have been published in dozens of international publications incl. ELLE, VOGUE, FORBES, FOCUS, BUNTE. His TV features and films have been broadcast through many TV organizations and other media outlets. Christoph Stopka is the author of four books - FROZEN WORLD (2019), CLOUDS (2019), WINGS AND WAVES (2020) and MOUNTAINS IN MONOCHROME (2020).

  He has also collaborated  with a large number of internationally known personalities and in addition, he has photographed  campaigns for major fashion companies as well as several album covers for globally acclaimed recording artists.

  From seakayaking expeditions in Mexico and the Pacific Northwest of Canada to underwater research with Spinner dolphins in Hawaii, from in-depth experiences with wolves in British Columbia, Wyoming and Colorado, diving for treasure in the Bahamas, researching polar bears in the Arctic and studying albatross on the Pacific islands of Midway to protecting America’s few remaining wild horses -  Christoph Stopka has experienced and documented a wide variety of topics. Furthermore, he has gained international recognition by producing numerous world-exclusive features.

 In recent years he has focused his ambitions increasingly on his true passion: Nature and Adventure Photography, for which he has been recognized in feature stories by photography publications such as SHUTTERBUG magazine and OUTDOOR PHOTOGRAPHER.

 In 2020 his highly acclaimed Short Film "Clouds and Beyond" made the list of the "World's Best Short Films" and is currently distributed worldwide  by discover.film .

 In 2004 Christoph Stopka was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. He has since dedicated a big part of his efforts to inspiring other people with similar disabilities to still live a rewarding and full life.

 Christoph Stopka lives with his wife Cathy and their two dogs in the mountains of Colorado.
