Christoph Stopka is an award winning Journalist, writer and Photographer. He was born in Germany, where at the age of 21 he became the youngest newspaper editor. He moved to the USA in 1986 and worked as a Foreign Correspondent in New York City, Los Angeles and Santa Fe. His articles and photography have been published in dozens of international publications incl. FORBES, ELLE, VOGUE, FOCUS, COSMOPOLITAN, BUNTE. His TV features and films have been broadcast through various European TV organizations and other media outlets.
During the course of his award winning career Christoph has worked extensively with a wide variety of internationally known personalities – among them Madonna, Steven Spielberg, Sharon Stone, Gloria Estefan, Jane Goodall, Sir Richard Branson, Daryl Hall & John Oates, Chaka Khan, George Benson, Isabella Rossellini, Tatjana Patitz, Christo, Don King, Dr. Andrew Weil and many more. In addition, he has photographed fashion campaigns for companies such as "H&M" and also a number of album covers for globally acclaimed recording artists such as Grandmaster Flash, Antonelli Venditti and Princess. Furthermore, he has gained widespread international recognition by producing world-exclusive feature stories on Marlene Dietrich, Emilie Schindler (“Schindler’s List”) and others.
From seakayaking expeditions in Mexico and the Pacific Northwest of Canada to underwater research with Spinner dolphins in Hawaii, from in-depth experiences with wolves in British Columbia, Wyoming and Colorado, diving for treasure in the Bahamas, researching polar bears in the arctic and studying albatross on the Pacific islands of Midway to protecting America’s few remaining wild horses - Christoph has experienced and documented a wide variety of topics.
In 2004 Christoph Stopka was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease.
In recent years he has focused his ambitions increasingly on his true passion: Nature and Adventure photography.
Christoph Stopka lives with his wife Cathy and their two dogs - Cody and Tracker – in the mountains of Colorado. He is currently working on several photo books, exhibits of his Fine Art Photography, a film documentary and a self-help guide on how to continue to live a full life with Parkinson’s Disease.
